choke on honda not working

    hey guys i have a honda 21" and the choke isn't working i have only had it for 2years.
    i can tell this because it takes 7pulls to get it going and when its on choke it doesn't make the noise like its suppose to

    any suggestions

    Use a carb cleaner first off. It could be sticking and not shuting all of the way. If that didn't work trace from control to carb and see if there is any linkage problem and then take it in if you have to. good luck.

    Had similar experience, choke cable was culprit.
    Make sure set screw that holds choke cable hasn't loosened to the point of letting cable slide toward carb. Choke cable should be set so butterfly is almost totally closed in choke position.
    As suggested earlier, use carb cleaner around choke/carb to clean any build up off.
    Make sure air cleaner (paper & foam) are clean too.

    it is the cable, adjust it and you will be fine.
