We do lights. Google wholesale christmas lights and you will find tons of places to buy them.
Personally, we use a lot of stuff from Holiday Bright Lights...

How does one go about installing. I'm just curious as I have only installed Home owner ones for my dad. Do they come in a roll & then have a tap in type receptacle or are the plugs already there? Also, how do you go about jumping from one section to another w/o having lights in between?

You can buy rolls and cut to fit, or you can buy sets already. They make patch cables to jump between the strings.

to learn a bit more about lights

Like said, there's a lot of options on lights. For doing resi. stuff you could get by fine with buying locally at a good discount store. Your prices will be likely less than any place you will find online for most simple C-7, C-9 or mini lights. For commercial properties/ large houses it will be better to step up to better grade commercial lights because most have heavier gague wire and can make longer runs.
Honestly, there's just so many things one's imigination can do with the varities of lights there is these days... LED lights are fast taking the market by storm, prices are dropping fast and quality is improving along with their brightness and color availabity. The huge plus to them is that they use a very tiny amount of power. Maybe something to think of offering if you are trying to get into the lighting biz.
