Currently am using Powerchutes. Like them a lot. Two recurring issues have me looking elsewhere: first: the motors, switches and other parts are not as heavy duty as I'd like and we need and second: the unit has to be removed before attaching a bagger.
I use an accelerator some on my TTHP and use the clam shell bagger on my Z some. Used to have the exmark ocdc on my z but took it off. Wasn't pleased with it and got tired of talking off for bagger. Somebody needs to come out with one that will work with a bagger or design it so its very easy to remove and put back on. Like under 5 minutes.
With the Qwikchute's design it allows enough room for the bracket of the Accelerator to be mounted on the deck. The chute door folds over the bracket without any interference. So when you need to bag you just open the door in the upright position and drop the bagger on its mount and on the Exmarks drop the bagger through the factory hole in the side sail of deck and start mowing. There is no need to remove anything to mount the bagger on or off.
As far as the Powerchute design goes IMO its a nice setup. I chose to go with the more simplistic design of the Qwikchute as I feel there is a lesser chance of prone to failure. A spring is the most probable failure on the Qwikchute and I keep a spare in my tool box. With the Powerchute there's a switch, motor, wiring, fuse. Plus the fact that they are not always compatible with different bagger brackets. Powerchutes don't run on mowers without charging systems where the Qwikchutes no electrical power is needed to make them work. K I S S !!! IMHO of course !!!!!!

Turfbuilder, thanks for posting about the Qwikchute. Had heard of them but was unaware they had a walk behind model. Have you used this unit on a walk behind? If so, which brand? Can you use a bagger along with the ocdc or does it need to be removed first?
Trimmer trap installed on a 48" turf tracer. I installed 2 blockers and the factory blocker was too large. I was able to cut it in half and use on each mower. Leaves me with a full size spare.
The Qwikchute is very nice. I have custom modified the handles/brackets on my units to fit my mowers the way I want them to work. Actually the 36 tracer has the chute off the BOP I sold to sehitchman. I made the handle assembly for the 36 tracer as at the time Qwikchute didn't build a unit for the 36 tracer. They work perfectly with Accelerator catchers too. They are worth the money and are on all my mowers.:waving:
Sorry bud my units are 52/36" TT's . I don't own a 48. Just give Qwikchute a call they will get you straightened out with the correct unit. 407-654-659eight ask for Steve
I bought the EZ Chute for my Exmark Metro 36. For the price I feel it is just OK. Some of the welds are pretty suspect and I won't be suprised to have to repair them at some point and I'm just a homeowner. Included hardware is pretty cheap--broke the machine screw for the stop that keeps it partially open before I even got it tight and the piece that holds the machine-end of the spring is just a cheap machine screw with a washer tack welded into the end. Don't expect that to be a long-term part. The handle is unrefined and could have been a little better shaped. It also had no grip and a rough edge, resolved by buying a grip from McMaster Carr. It does work with the Rack-Em grass catcher I bought
