Several equipment rental companies in my area carry the Classen CA-18 plug aerator. The Classen website specifies that this unit has adjustable tine depth, but I can find no way to do this. There are a couple of wheel stop bolts on either side of the machine that look as though they could be used for setting the tine depth, but they are too short to be of any use. As it is, the tines sink in the full depth up to the hub (approx 3.5"), and the rear wheels never touch the ground, making this machine very, very difficult to handle.

I can't believe that this is how this machine is supposed to operate, but I'm open to the possibility that I'm missing the boat somewhere. If anyone who has any experience with or knowledge of this machine can weigh in on this, I'd appreciate it.
