My soil is mostly clay if I add peat moss to the top and till it in will this help with making the soil less hard and help with drainage? It gets vert hard in the summer and when it rains it puddles up and seeps in very slow.

Any organic matter mixed in with clay will help break it down. Compost is most commonly used, but peat would be ok also.
