What is the average amount of days you let pass before following up on a large commercial bid?
14 days, and then I am requesting when a decision is going to be made. Our bids are only valid for 45 days anyway.
I don't. Before starting a lawn/landscaping business I worked as a purchasing buyer and then manager for a large manufacturing company. I hated (so did others in my group) sales people calling about their bids, etc... If you mailed the bid, I would call in 3-4 days to ensure they received it. If I hand delivered it I would never call. I simply tell them to contact me if they have any questions or comments about the bid. No matter what you do, I wouldn't bug them too much. Those people never got my business!

If they want you and like your bid....they'll call YOU.
