Where do I go to find out the requirements and costs for a commercial license?
In our market no license is required for doing any green industry activity. It is controlled by each state, county and town. They may all require something different but I think in most places nothing is required.
In most cases to "mow" lawns you wont need a license however if you do say Mulch then you will need one.
i don't know the specific rules for "commercial" properties but.
At least here in NY for Resi stuff. Mowing, edging, blowing etc etc is considered "maintenance" and you do not need a license for that.
However laying Much or any thing that ADDS or DETRACTS (laying brick, irrigation etc etc) is considered "Home Improvement" and you will need a license for that. (and yes laying much as stupid as that is... IS considered home improvement and for that alone you would need a license).
Im not the most knowledgeable person here (as im just starting this) but, that is what was explained to me when i contacted my state.
Best advice i can give you is to contact your "Department of Consumer Affairs" as they will be the ones that issue the license to you so they should know what License if any you need.
Hope that helps !
