I guess I'll get used to it, but this "keeping up with the joneses" crap makes me spend more time trying to figure out where and how everything is/works than enjoying the site. It's a lawn forum for pete's sake. It doesn't need to be fancy or ultra fast. Not a fan of the changes each time they happen, but as I said, I will eventually get used to them (or just start losing interest in this site.)

Why didn't those we had on ignore etc follow us on over to this new system and stay on ignore? I actually don't recall all I had on ignore now but wish I had made a list. I didn't even know the site was going to change. Does ignore totally block others from replying to you/seeing your posts, even if those posts are in quotes in someone else's post? In other words, a total block? That is what it should do. Also, why do I have to click on my icon to know if there are alerts? It would be much more useful if a red bubble with the number of new alerts etc showed up in one corner or another of my icon.

Regarding notifications - I don't think there was a "dot" on my avatar (up top) just now, but when I clicked my avatar, I saw the red dod with the number of notifications on the BELL.

I'll test it by letting someone "like" this post and come back in ten minutes to see what it shows.
It is working the same way for me, which was why I mentioned that there should be a red alert icon out on my icon instead of having to click on mine to know I actually have an alert. You aren't alone.

I had to refresh the page, but a GREEN dot appeared on the upper corner of my avatar at the uppr right of the page.

Clicking my avatar then showed a RED dot on the "bell" with a number indicating "likes".

We'll get it all figured out in time.
Was your green dot a very dull, almost miss-able green dot at the upper right corner? I have had a few of those, but they are so light/dull that I almost didn't see them. In fact, I didn't notice them until I went to click on my icon to look for the red alerts.

It is generally a browser or phone feature that will alert you if you have it set to do so.

Let me know if this helps explain it better than I can.

That's what I thought they were, and all of my notifications are set to "push" but I have never had any pop-up window here or in the past systems while they were enabled. Not sure why though.

Something else that needs addressing IMO- when you check alerts, and then view the new ones, they should change color or get much darker..........something to let you know which ones you have already viewed, even if they were JUST viewed, and that should happen without having to back out of the thread or refresh the page. That would be very helpful.

It is based on the color scheme of the site to determine the color of the dot in light mode. For example, it is green here in light mode, but blue on PlowSite. Both have red dots for notifications in dark mode though
Can this be changed? I can see the green dot as long as there isn't a lot of light shining on the screen, but a brighter color like hunter orange or safety green etc would really by great.
