I'm thinking about my next mower, either a SCAG Tiger Cat 52" 27 HP Kholer or an Exmark Laser Z,S or X model, would you please compare the two mowers? The salesman at my dealer who carries both brands is pushing the Exmark, the've had a lot of luck with the new Lase Z.He also saqid they have sold a good deal more of the S with the Ultracut Series 4 over the X with the Series 6.My big concern is how they work in wet conditions,I won't be able to demo until the spring. How are the bagging systems on both brands? Thanks for any feed back.

scag is much better for wet grass. exmark's ultra cut deck will have the smoothest cut of any zero turn deck in normal cutting conditions.

Can't speak for the Scag but my Lazer Z with the 27hp Kohler Series 4 60" will clump wet stuff. Not at first but once the deck gets buildup it does.

I previously had the series 4 and now have the series 6 ultracut 60", and the series 6 is about as good of a deck as you can get. The series 6 deck is an inch deeper and has better spindles. The extra depth is enough to make a big difference. Put some G-6 gators on there and its awesome. So definitely go with series 6, and the flkat free casters and the better seat are also on there. And I can tell you the gel like shock absorbers under the seat make a huge difference when on rough terrain. I got the kawasaki 29hp on mine, and its been great.

are the g6 blades that much better than the stock high lifts? what are the differences between the two that you have noticed? because if there is a noticable difference than i will have to try some g6's

Series 4: 5.4" diameter cutting housing
Series 6: 7.75" diameter cutting housing

Only difference. Everything else is identical.

Whatever the difference is, the series 6 can handle more wet grass.
