trees and ladders don't mix
What the? I want that guy as my friend.. the amount of stupid sh.t I could get him to do...
I use a ladder to put a cable up in the tree then move said ladder and use a skid steer to pull as the tree is cut.
Never seen tree service around here use that method. Sounds dangerous. Most around here climb and/or use a bucket truck
I don't do it for profit. I do this for my self and friends.
Not worth dying or getting injured. Anything can happen without the right equipment for the job. Even with the right equipment it can be a dangerous job.
It is just like throwing a rope in the tree and pulling it. I just use a ladder to get 15-20 feet up and choke a cable around the trunk. Then using a snatch block pull with a skid steer just to make sure it goes the right way. We still notch the tree the cable is just for security. There is no one on the ladder as the tree is cut
