Connection Trouble

Why doesthe connection time out before connecting to the forum? Sometimes I have to try to connect 6 - 10 times before I am actually connected to the forum. Tonite it took about 30 minutes to get connected yet the number of visitors on the Turfquip counter never changed. What's going on and is this happening to others. Of course, if you can't get on you can't read this.

Lanelle, who are you using for ISP? I often will have trouble you describe on AOL, but changing to alternate ISP solves the problem. (Very infrequently have the reverse effect.)
----------
Jim
North central Indiana

I'm on CompuServe, which is owned by AOL now.
I sometimes feel as though CS is AOL's poor step sister. The number of times that the connection is lost is incredible.

Been on AOL for 3-4 yrs. They have ups and downs as client base jumps. I feel their reaction is usually pretty good. Most slowdowns are after Christmas, and disappear in a few weeks. Don't know about C-Serve. When I had the problem the other day, I used Netzero, a free ISP. There are more and more free ones coming out. Just do a web search for "free ISP" and find if one services your area.
----------
Jim
North central Indiana
