Can someone give me the conversion formula for converting sq. ft. into cubic yards? Thanks for any help.

If its cubic feet, it is 27 cubic feet to a cubic yard. If it,s a mulch estimate I'd say 100 square feet to a cubic yard. Here's a handy web site that might help. http://members.aol.com/MonT714/convrsns/

If you're trying to figure sq.ft coverage per cubic yard:

    27 cuft/yd so
    Depth 12" - 27 sqft
    " 6" - 27*2 =54sqft
    " 4" - 27*3=81 sqft
    " 3" - 27*4=108 sqft

    Formula 27cuft *(12/#inches desired depth)=sq.ft. coverage

Just remember that generally when dealing w/ bulk materias, you do get a little more than bagged product!!
