I have a 16K trailer I use to tow my equip.
It uses a pintle type hitch to my 03 Duramax 2500.
Do you guys see an advantage to converting it to a 5th wheel hookup?
I just did a new hardwood deck and brakes all around so I would rather modify it then trade.
    I am a certified welder.
Just wondered if anyone has done it.

Saw a show on cable channel about the install. Well worth it for heavy loads. Can't beat puttin' the weight over the axle. Think about addin' a higher tech brake controller as well . Entire set up was sweet when done.

I think that a %th wheel is better because you have the weight of the trailer more over the axle thanon the tailend of the truck should ride a lot smoother I bought a bumper pull landscaping trailer that was rated at 7K and the empty weight was like 3550 , so by the time we put all our stuff and our two Scag Sabertooths on trailer it was alot to have on the end of your truck had it converted to 5th wheel best money spend think it cost like 750.. to do .PLus another good thing is it is alot easier to back and turn around dont have to worry about trailer getting into bumper now Good luck I have pictures if intrested . twj
