I would assume that this happens to everyone else on here. You show up at a property and turn on your mower and the whole damn neighborhood does the same🤣🤣

Post your pictures or tell some stories about copycats. By the way this is only my second week mowing for the season.

Back when I started my mechanic shop, I started in my garage at home. I owned a big Cub Cadet garden tractor (still have and use it) and would use it to drag non running vehicles up the driveway and into the garage. Sometimes I would just move it around in and out of the garage in the morning. Inevitably, if I fired it up at even 6:30 in the morning, within minutes someone would start a lawn mower and start cutting their grass. 🤣 Just like now, I never mow wet grass. Never have. But I sure fooled a bunch of bored retired homeowners. I used to really get a kick out of it.

I’m sure it still happens. I just don’t pay any attention anymore.

I only had one stop yesterday, where I did not see anyone else, come out to mow, I have had a neighbor on a stop, tell me he watches me, use the string trimmer. Would I give him some pointers, that he been trying to copy me, That I make it look easy.
He did have the concept of the task, but not enough power, and the thin string,on his ego trimmer, There is no way, it could keep up with a fs91. I just told him it takes practice, not to bust his ego, on his purchase.

When I was an Arborist that was a thing. When the tree truck rolled in everybody in the neighborhood that owned a chainsaw found something they needed to cut :D

Humanity has a strong herd instinct. Monkey-see, monkey-do

It happens with other stuff too. One guy takes the lead and others follow. Its natural

On my days off, when I hear someone else mowin', I start gettin' anxious and feelin' like I need to get to work

I am the opposite I’m willing to pay someone to mow my lawn. I do not enjoy mowing my own lawn at all.

7 years ago my daughter use to help me mow sometimes. She would be on a 52" stand on mower. Talk about men jumping on there rigs and mowing like crazy. I guess they had to show that blonde girl they were better at mowing.
Now she's a special ed. teacher.

For some reason, I thought you were located in Ohio.
I started wondering where you found such a hilly area and when I hovered over your info, it shows Nebraska.
That explains things.

Lots of sloped homes here. The path on the left is part of a golf course, which wraps all the way around to the other side.
Trimming bushes and the customer decided, she needed to weed the beds😂😂

OMG, I have one lady who does this.
I'll be mowing and she comes out and starts pulling weeds or working on hand edging the beds.
I've stopped telling her it's time to take a break (go inside!) - I just skip the trimming in the area she's at and go trim elsewhere. If she's still there, it gets trimmed next week - I shouldn't need to ask her to move.
