What would be an average price for river rock or pea gravel by the yard or ton. I thought I saw on here that it goes for around $30 a ton. Does that sound right.

    That's the ballpark for retail.

I get my river rock strait from the pit at 17/ton.

I may be a little off but I think there is on average 1.4 tons of pea gravel in a yard.

Last week I bought pea gravel from a ready mix/concrete company for $15 a ton.

Here brown river rock 3 inches is $100 per cubic yard. I'm only buying less than 10 yards a year.

It depends on how much trucking it takes to get to the point of sale. If you live far from any sources, it will be high due to trucking expense.

Anyone use river rock for a driveway? Dust?

Tried it once, doesn't make for a good surface to plow snow on so I got rid of it so I stick with CA-6 or crusher run, whatever you want to call it.
