I am wandering how much to charge to install 500 square feet of sod? Do you charge by the square foot or square yard? The area needs a little prep work but not much.

Charge as much as you think it's worth.

I've done a couple 500 sqft sod jobs this year ranging in price from $1500-$2500.

That's only $3 per sqft. That's starting price for me. Not all of us have to deal with the low prices of Florida.

how much is a pallet of sod? Here the going price is 200-220 anywhere from 400-500 sqr ft unless you can find somebody to sub to that gets directly from the farm, and then they will charge me $375 to do the job, and a decent one at that.

It's hard to find customers that will pay 600/pallet to have it done.

$250 for a pallet of centipede here. That includes the actual sod and labor to lay it.

Shade sod is 60 roll pallet at $3.70 per roll. $222+tax per pallet
Sunny sod is 70 roll pallet at $3.55 per roll.
    $248.50+tax per pallet
Each roll is 10sqft. With a $15 refundable pallet deposit.

I can get it a bit cheaper if I drive out to the burbs. But once you factor in the time its not worth the drive.

I buy sod for $135 pallet 700 sq ft 70 rolls.

Our Install ranges from $1.05-$1.95 sq ft installed depending on prep and size of job.

We have installed nearly 40 pallets this season and it was a wet beginning.

Done ? Or done right ?
Bringing in new soil or just slapping it down on what’s there ?
Maybe give 2 options - new layer of topsoil for x amount per square ft // or just till the area and use existing soil for x amount per square ft.
