I was wondering how you handled your invoicing.

    Full payment up front
half up front and the other half after you hang

When renting or leasing do you receive full payment up front?

What tools are used to locate shorts or bad bulbs in a string, and where ca I find them?

on new jobs, we do 1/2 up front and other half is due on completion. on rehangs, we do the job and then get paid.

The best item to repair mini-lights is what is called a commercial light testing unit or a "magic box". they are sold by several folks, but my favorite is the one from holiday light source out of Texas. around 150 bucks is what I paid for the last one I bought. plug in the light set to the box, isolate the nonworking circuit if it is larger than a 50 light set, then hit the button and find the buzz.

I would stay away from the red trigger ones sold in your local home depot or lowes that are 10-20 bucks. they are fairly worthless.

We take half upfront and the rest is due within 5 days.

for re-hangs, they typically pay up front as we offer a pre/early-pay discount.
