crab grass help

    hey guys put down a round of pre emerg last year.. but the yard had a big problem... what have you found the best solution to rid crab grass. it was a big problem. any helpful ideas would be great. i know rookie question. just really fustrated and tried so meany different ideas

    Mow 2- to 3 inches. Proper irrigation ,split app of dimension 1.5 mini had excellent results.NE zone

    No way of telling. We have no idea where you are, what you used, what rate it went down, the timing of it, and if all label was followed. License?

    When was your application and of what. Barricade is great if you are going early, before 50*F soil temps.. It does not start release it barrier until that point. Depending on rate of application, you can get 5 months control. Where are you at?

    Barricade is good. Go to the higher rates or apply twice for maximum results. Apply before them temp hits 80 in your area.

    what was your weather conditions like? ALot of rain? Was the soil disturbed? Did you apply it at the right time?

    You will be hard pressed to get 5 months of coverage out of it, though. VERY hard pressed. This goes for any of the pre-emergents. In the most optimum conditions; that of which is no rain - to flush the soils, 3 to 4 months is pushing the envelope.
