Cracked Transaxle Housing - Can this be repaired?

I think the bolt tab could be brazed back on fairly easy after preheating the whole unit in an oven but the cracked lip for the o-ring would be difficult to rebuild.

Thanks for the replies. Looks I'll have to bite the bullet and order a new one.

I googled the part number and the new replacement number is

HYDRO GEAR 71728 KIT, ZT-2800 W/ BRAK

I see it for ~$1000 at a couple online sellers.. Any ideas where to buy a Hydro-Gear transaxle for less?

Id try jb weld or something first got nothing to lose imo clean is key

Is the rest of unit still ok and work?

Look for a used unit or donor mower
Check ebay for one even used or the caseThumbs Up

Not good.
Definitely gonna need a new housing.
Don't ferget all the seals, snap rings, etc., if ya swap the internals.

If you can get a housing for $200, I would not even consider trying to get it fixed. It would cost that or more to get it welded and with no guarantees. Like monkey said if you do weld it cap and all.
