Saw this on craigslist and thought it was crazy.

Is it even safe. Could the frame handle the weight when loaded???
any opinions.
its a 1988 toyota truck with a dump bed.

at only 2200 someone might take it into consideration.

That really isn't as bad as you think. That looks like a 1 ton Toyota. They actually did make a 1 ton pickup back in the 80's. And you could actually buy an aftermarket kit to make it a dually. I've heard of a lot of guys doing this to use as lawn trucks.
If you look at the GVWR of the truck I'm sure the payload is something like 500 pounds, and the dump-bed probably swallowed it up.

You can put a bow and a ribbon on a turd, but it's still a turd.

Seriously though, look at the pic, the frame on the thing is tiny.

first off theres no way thats a 1980's 1 ton.

- look at the frame it absolutly is no where close to a 1 ton let alone a 1/2 ton.
- Also he clearly states that he put a 350 in it, which was too big in the first place due to the fact that a transfer case wont fit.

I just find it crazy that This can even be road legal. If i put 1 ton of gravel in the back it would either snap or tip on a turn.
