Last year it was a small area, maybe 30'x20'. This year it is 100'x30'.

Spent a few hours this weekend going after it with a steel garden rake, and my hands. Got rid of about 50% of it and a lot of thatch.

    Its an uphill losing battle!

Weed control is not a "Once and Done" deal... you got all summer to eliminate the CC manually...

Thicker grass would be a help. Try a top-quality organic fertilizer along with water in a program designed to grow thicker grass. Don't be afraid to experiment a little. A taller height of cut might work better. Or perhaps a short cut--followed by letting it get tall.
A denser type of grass might suit the situation better--like one of the denser sports-type bluegrasses: Sydsport, Blue Velvet or Langara.

If all else fails--new sod might be the quickest.

Creeping Charlie will eat up all the fert and water you can give it, and will kill another blade of grass with each breath... I've never seen grass overcome Creeping Charlie but I have seen it turn a real nice green and go racing across the yard... :)

I have this insatiable desire to kill all the tiny purple flowers I see!
