I have a 60 inch and a 72 inch way does the 72 cut better than the 60
blades sharp, tire pressure, decks level.... scalping wheels set right, stripping rollers set right, spindle problems, belt slippage..
could also be a horse power ratio thing. what hp is the 60 and what hp is the72?
Our 72 also cuts much better then the 60's and we don't know why either. Everything is the same just a little bit wider.
Maybe I should go ahead and get myself a 72". I've been itching to get one, but I have been afraid it would not cut as well... as the 60" cuts soooooo well.
i thought that i was the only one thank you
I have to say that I am amazed with this being the first I have heard of this.
What part of the cutting performance is better with the 72"?
Basically for mine, it discharges the clippings better, then the 60's I have. Not that the 60's do a bad job, which I for one, think they leave a excellent cut/stripe as is. We use scag low-lift blades on the 72, and stock from the factory blades on the 60, but I get them elsewhere, way cheaper. The 72 scag blades, I have to bore out the center hole to the 3/4"
The two that I notice the most is it disperses clippings much better and quality of cut in tall grass.
Thats true, will buzz right thru knee hi grass.
