A customer wants her yard overseeded and I was wondering, what should I do about the growing grass after I seed? The seed will take some time to germinate and grow and the existing grass will continue to grow around it. I'm worried about it being way tall by the time I make my first cut. How shoudl I work this?

I always cut the yard before I plug it. I cut it about 1/2 inch shorter than normal. Then plug and seed. I wait 2 weeks before I mow again. I don't bag it and cut it the first time a little taller than normal. then the next time go back to normal height. That is how I do it, not sure if that's the best way but it has worked for me.
