Long story short we are rebuilding the front and rear entrance steps to a home built in the 1920s that has a stone foundation. There isn’t a single stone that’s larger than say basketball in diameter comprising the stones in the foundation. The old steps were crumbling and removed. Our plan was to Purchase natural veneer stone from NSS or “natural stone solutions”. Unfortunately the particular stone we need to use to match the existing foundation of the house is back ordered by a few weeks. That being said we did keep the stone that made up the old crumbling steps in our yard so we had them for future projects if needed and thought maybe we could just spend some time cutting those rock down to make our own veneer? Has anyone ever experimented with cutting stones to make their own veneer. We would probably need less than 25ft.² in total

Why don’t you just buy a couple of pallets of bluestone veneer. Northeastern Pa is loaded with dealers. You could spend several days cutting stone with a diamond blade.
