Cutting new sod

    At one of my accounts, sod was put down 4 weeks ago. I let the grass grow for 2 weeks then cut it with my 21" Snapper so I don't damage the sod. The sod has been there for a total of 4 weeks now and I am wondering, how long until I can cut the new sod with my 48" Bob-Cat WB (which I love!!!!!!!!), without damaging it? Thanks in advance.

    Just go slow on the turns, and make sure the ground isnt too wet from the homeowner watering.

    do the pull test.

    grab a big fat hunk of grass blades and gently pull. If the sod starts to lift up, leave her alone. (and find out why after 4 weeks she isn't rooted better.)

    If the sod stays firmly rooted, then mow away. Use (fresh) sharp blades and be very slow and careful in turns.
