I was at my Stihl dealer gettin a blade and a guy called in with what I think is a deal on a walk behind. It is a Ferris 32" Hydro walk with 13hp Kaw. It is one year old and the dealer said it it is in good shape and keeps it serviced well. He is asking $1500 for it. i could use it because all I have now is a JD 797 60"

Is this a good deal or not?

If it is the single hydro then I would stay away....
I bought one before not knowing that it was a single and returned it right away. It's not a true zero turn and hills will be an issue. It's a single hydro to meet a price point. Make sure you get a dual hydro or nothing...but I don't think that Ferris makes a dual hydro in 32.

sorry dude but i demoed one last week, those mowers plain old has 1 unitized hydro, if that breaks u looken at a grand or more to replace, and that pos cant make turns on its own, it only goes forward and backwards.....mowing on a hill will be a workout forya....theres a reason for the lowball price, knowone wants it.

The mower will leave an excellant cut but it is tough to make turns. I have a 2 year old Ferris 36 SD and it's up to just over 50 hours now. I put like 5 hours on it last year. I'll try to use it more this year but I think I'm going to loose money on this mower.

yep, if it's a single drive, stay away.
