Decent Sized Companies - Employee Advancement

    There are a few decent sized companies in my area looking for the basic crew member and leader positions. They state that they offer many opportunities for advancements. What type of positions are open to leaders looking to move up?

    Sales/bidding type work, maybe mechanic type opportunities, Manager of the team leaders? Customer service?

    I don't have a problem putting in some time at the crew member, and then (hopefully) at the leader role, but I am wondering where I could go on from there.

    I have been an Operations Manager for 3 medium size companies and now an owner. From what I have seen it is usually extremely hard to move up from a crew member into a management position. If they are telling you this will happen, I would make sure you have an agreement say 90-120 days to prove your abilities then you move into the position you seek.
