Well it's getting to be that time of year again. I've decided to move on to a rider for my 1 acre. The problem is what should I go with. I have been thinking of getting the Gravely ZT 1740, but now contemplating a traditional tractor (Simplicity, Cadet or Deere). What are your guys thoughts? I like the looks and feel of the ZTR, but is it worth the extra $1,200? My property is relatively flat with two landscape islands and 4 trees. I presently use a Sutech Stealth 33", but not happy with the time it takes me to cut the lawn.

although i personally would never buy a homeowner model, for your purposes, you could probably get a homeowner model ztr (zero-turn) and it would last a long time. i could be wrong because i haven't been on a lawn tractor for more than 10 years, but i would expect you to be able to finish the mowing in much less time w/ the ztr.
