I'm sure it has been discussed on here before, but I haven't found it yet. If so...please forgive me. Anyhow...what height should I set my deck at to get the best possible striping results?!?

i am in the process of taking pics of some of my accounts that I stripe with my Tiger. I mow 3" to 3.5" inches right now. The Scag stripes really well without the kit but with it its like night and day.

I've read all the threads on here about the striping kits. Some people swear by them and others say they're not needed. I would be interested in seeing those pics. I get stripes at 3", but they aren't really defined. I thought they may be more defined at 3.5" or 4". Just wanted to find out from the pros.

Those are really nice stripes! Do you bag or mulch? Also, are you using a striping kit?!?

This thread shows how much guys on here know about striping LOL

I automatically voted for the highest setting. The longer the turf, the bolder the stripe will look, as you are bending the turf.

Not that every lawn would LOOK great cutting over 4.5" -- but the stripe would be boldest. I cut from 3 - 3.75".

Thanks for the responses guys. Keep them coming. I think I'll try raising my deck a little to see the results.
