I am planning (if everything goes well this season) to upgrade my whole setup at the end of this year/first of next year. I currently run a x540 54inch garden tractor and love it. I plan on getting a x758 60 inch and have been seriously thinking about getting a zero turn as well just to save time on my more open, less steep lawns. Some of the lawns I do a garden tractor is necessary due to being pretty steep. Anyhow, the model ztr I am interested in is the z720e but was wondering just how it compares to the z915e. I dont think any of the z7 series has the 7Iron deck..? and I am not sure if the deck they do have is basically the same as the 7Iron or not. Quality of cut is my main worry I do believe they both have similar sized hydros and engines.
For a ztr in general, I am really open to anything. a lot of people around here love Scag and Snapper Pro/Ferris. I have used a Snapper Pro 61inch and liked it a lot. The main think I am looking for is quality of cut. I really need something that can fan out somtimes wet 2 week spring grass to the point it most likely wouldnt need to be double cut. I hate leaving a lot of clippings behind, clumped or not. My x540 cuts super clean but unless the grass is REALLY thick its as if it looses suction and doesnt throw the grass with as much velocity and it tumbles and clumps up. I use high lift blades on it though.
I have a Spartan/Bad Boy/Gravely dealer very close by, a JD dealer a little farther away, and a Scag dealer about 45-60 minutes away. Other dears about 1-2 hours away. The closest dealer doesnt demo anything out but the JD and Scag dealer do demo. Like i say I am pretty well sold on Deere, but am open to other things.
Anyway, main thing I am wondering is:
z720e vs z915e both 60 inch cut.
Thoughts? opinions?

The decks are very similar with the exemption of the 720's being 9 gauge (still plenty thick) but the hydros are not the same at all. The 915 has much better hydros than the 720 and the frame of the 915 is strong. The 720e is built for HO's with large acreage or low level commercial use. The 915 is full commercial duty. It will have better re-sale too. It's what I would choose between the two.

Resell has been in the back of my mind because of the possibility of something happening that I can no longer do lawn care. I would most definitely want to keep the x758 due to its versatility but I could get rid of the zero turn without it hurting me...really at all if situations arose. But, that is kind of why I lean more towards the z720e due to it being nearly $2k cheaper set up the same way as the z915e. Though.. I suppose in the end I could go with the better machine because everything I plan on getting from Deere, I hope to finance at the same deal they had before. Before this season started I was ready to pull the trigger on a x750 with attachments when they were having the 0% for 60 months and no down payment financing deal going on, but I do not have any credit so I couldnt get it. I've taken out a small loan at my bank just to pay it back to build credit so hopefully that wont be a problem when I try to get what I'm wanting this time

I think the best you'll get on the z915 is 0% for 48 months with 10% down, or 0% for 36 months with zero down. If you purchase direct from a dealer ask for the 10% online discount in addition to other discount promos. I was in the 660 score range when I got my JD financing.

A $2k premium is well worth it to step up to the z900 line imo.
