This past Saturday was just a dethatching day. The three smaller yards I dethatched and bagged. The two bigger yards, I dethatched and then went over twice to cut.

Bagging is more effective, but on bigger properties I tend to just cut up the thatch. It saves me the time and effort bagging and disposing on big properties. Both leave very manicured lawns.

Do you bag your thatch or just cut it?.. or both?

I bag it, then take a pic of the several bushels I've taken up in the trailer in case the customer has any doubts about how effective my service is.

If there is a lot of thatch you need to bag it.

Don't have to get it all up but the majority if you have big clumps laying everywhere.

Why would you even bother detahtching if yer just gonna leave it there?...Seems pointless.
