Just got a contract with the city to clean up the empty and deadbeat properties in town. I wanted to give them a estimate per job, they wanted per 1000sq/ft. they won. ;) .

    I got the bid @ $35 per 1000sq/ft

Some of the Props. have waist high grass and higher ( see pic.) . I have to cut grass, remove any clippings, and trim.

    Fair price??

What are you clearing with and is this a one time deal or will you have a schedule for these properties?

sounds like a good rate to me for a 32x32 postage stamp. maybe should have gone a little higher to remove the clippings. if you won the bid then it means you were probably the lowest or only bidder.

that sounds ok if you are getting paid on the property dimensions.. If you are only getting paid for lawn area, your're getting ripped..

Still may be low considering how tall the grass is though..

i get a lot of those types of lawns...(overgrown).
i always charge more due to harder on your equipment, and never know what you might get into when the grass is that high.
