A few questions. Can I target specific nieghborhoods? How specific can you be? Streets, Zip? Should you mail envelopes with a flyer inside or can you do something like a postcard?
How much would it cost to mail out 500?;)

Whats my best bet?

Couple of ways, some cheaper, some require more effort.

1. Bulk mail through a post office. Few hundred for the bulk stamp. You supply the letter/information, pay a discount fee, and supply the rural route address on the letters. (Pain in the butt)

2. You can print up a bunch of flyers and insert them into the local city paper and tell the paper which zip codes to deliver to. (Very easy)

3. You can gather all the address by hand or from a service, and then create your own letter and mail out. (Pain in the butt)

4. You can get a service to do it for you. (No experience in this one yet)

5. You can put flyers hand delivered in paper boxes. (No direct mailing, but effective. Time consuming & pain in the butt)

I don't know where in Texas you are, but here in Harris county there is a site where you can get all the info you want for direct mailings. All people on a street, all people in a subdivision, all people in a zip code, etc.

If you live in Harris county, go to

www.hcad.org

You can probably figure out the rest once you get there. If not, and you live in Harris county, PM me with your phone number and I will walk you through it. :D

I know what you are saying, some people give the post office flyers without addresses and are suppose to put those in the mailboxes as they deliver mail. I got a friend that delivers mail, he told me that he just trashes post cards and junk mail that he is suppose to deliver. You might be better doin it yourself or paying for the posting. I think you can mail post cards for like .24 cents

Wow, that's pretty gutsy, considering it's a federal offense to trash mail like that. Maybe they have some protection from it, but I personally don't like using the bulk rate mailers.
