I am working on removing some dirt, years of degraded mulch that have become kinda a pile. Is it bad to remove the dirt and some of the tiny roots at the top of the dirt from around this tree or would it harm the tree?

a quick answer would be appreciated!

No it should not to do any harm and may be good for it. Try and not remove to many of the small roots as possible. There is not much of the root flare showing and the buildup of mulch and dirt over the years could be choking the tree for nutrients.

You’ve got a br800 don’t ya? Just take that too it and a rake to break it up.
