What can you do if you become temporarily disabled. I have had to have surgery and will be out of work for at least 6 weeks. Is this something I should add on to my insurance policy? Other ideas?

Aflac has that affordable policy addition that they advertise on tv all the time, my brother has it and he had to have an operation that took him out of work for three weeks and it was a huge help he said

there is short and long term disability- there is a grace period from when you sign till when it is active. Wont help for a current condition.
