Appearance played absolutely no factor in my decision. Ease of maintenance and sturdiness were the major factors. I bought a Scag.

When purchasing a mower, does anyone consider the resale or trade value of the mower?

Do you think looks and style might help resale/trade values? If someone is looking to buy a used machine, will they be influence if the machine looks a little more modern?

The looks of a John Deere are awesome. The mower is super strong and durable. I bought the 777 just to mow my own 7 acre yard. No regrets yet.

If you have a choice between very machines that have the same capability. Go with the one that looks the best. You also have to think about the impact to the customer. They don't know that much about mowers but will judge somewhat on what quality of equipment you are using on its looks.

Do you dress up for an job interview? The look of your mower is part of the entire package of how people perceive the quality and professionalism of you and your business.

  8. I have to admit that I considered buying a grasshopper. They cut amazing, but I can't get past that ugly brown color. If they were red or orange they could compete with scag and exmark.
