I thought I was having a bad day when I got a flat and had to get a new tire(they were already shot)
Then I was stacking brush into piles to move it to another area. Not sure how this happened but I think it was trapped in a vine that was attached to a big maple overhead. Saw it coming in and swung the machine into reverse quickly which accelerated the swing straight into the lap bar. Peeled the foam off it and would surely have ripped my guts out if the bar wasn't there.
Stay safe dudes. God wants me out there grading tomorrow I guess. Now i just need him to stop the rain. Even when you're doing everything right stuff goes wrong!

    Thanks JNB.

I don't use it in summer since I don't have ac. Also it's a swing out style, very annoying.

Wouldn't have made a difference anyway besides having to replace the door on top of my hospital bills

Now you realize that a natural reaction could have cost you your life. Spinning sideways would protect you better but, that is not ones initial reaction.

A friend of mine was killed last month when a log fell from his truck while he was removing the load binders. He never saw the log as he had his back toward the front of the unpinned load.

Work, all work is dangerous. Glad you posted your misshap.

Dodged a bullet there for sure, things like that happen real quick.

BTW, about time for some new tires, eh?

Having also had a very close call with a possibly life ending incident recently, I plan to take the item involved and make sort of a memorial of it. Not that I need the reminder, but to help keep it fresh each time I visit my shop or start the day out, that life is precious....that no matter how hard I try of my own to not become a statistic, there is a far greater power involved in my existance here.
