With a 36" cut, there would really be no need for a floating deck. Anything over 48" is where the floaters performance comes into play. Anything 48" and under, as it sits on a quadrant base only, it just isn't substantially feasible for cost effectiveness to go with a floating deck.
^ True, but a floating deck on a 36" does make the cutting height easier to change.

The fixed deck on my 32' is VERY EASY to change. It takes seconds. I love it...
