We have some properties that the siding is really close to the ground, was wondering if the edgit helps the operator on the trimmer to understand where his line is? or are the just good for edging?

It works great as a guide ..It creates a vaccum and so long as you keep the string to the edge ,you will not cause damage and can trim QUICKLY. IMHO

works great for that, the only thing is if you get in a 90 degree corner your line must be extended beyond the cone. As far as i am concerned the edgit is the best thing since the string trimmer, i love mine!!
