Does the type of oil make a noticable difference?

I was using the Echo synthetic oil in my BR600 until I ran out last week. I had some Stihl high performance oil so decided to give it a try but now the blower just doesn't seem to be as powerful. Nothing has changed except for the oil. Is it all in my head or is there something to it?

I was told to stick with a 50:1 ratio. Will any Amsoil 50:1 be fine?

Yes. I do mix my 2 stroke oil at 80:1 also and I've been doing it that way for years.

Well I was just going go with the Stihl ultra synthetic but none of my local dealers carries it. Are there any online dealers?
