When you go and do an estimate do you leave anything on the neighbors doors? Or do you wait to get the account and then leave something saying..."we are in the neighborhood..." Obviously the more you can get in a short area the better. Any other ways to attract the neighbors?

we are starting to realize that you can lose a lot of time and money from drive time, and are trying to target all the neighbors in an area we are already driving to. Makes perfect sense, sometimes you need to experience first hand why it is important, then you never forget it.
Definitely pass out to the neighbors.
Here's a specific flyer we pass out, stating the kind of neighborly smarts, hope it helps.

twins_lawn_care: that's a great little flyer. thanks. I will have to come up with something similar. Do you leave it in a bag by the door, use the mailbox or send them. I was thinking about getting the addresses on the street and then sending them.

Rich's: we are based out of Foxboro. how about you?

we pretty much just roll them up and place in the door handle. We do not use the bags at all for our flyers.
We made door hangers for our aeration this year, and will probably stick to them for all of our adertising in the future.
They look very professional, and we have gotten compliments, and responses from them. PLus I can print them for free with my part time job, so you can't beat that!
