I heard from a friend of mine who works for one of the larger LCO in my town, that the DOT is cracking down on trailers now-a-days. He said that lawn and landscaping companies have to have 4 tie-downs on all pieces of equipment, obviously not the real small pieces, but your Zero turns and Walk behinds. I was also put under the impression that plastic gas cans are illegal to carry, that they must be metal of some sort. I guess that makes sense, I've heard horror stories of guys sliding their gas cans in the back of their truck across their plastic liner. .... static charge.... boom.

I'm in NY, so if any of you from NY know of the DOT trailer laws.. is any of this true?
