Double blades for toro z master 52" deck

Does anyone use doubles on a 52" Toro deck and if so what is your feedback? I still am unhappy with the way this deck cuts and am considering trying doubles if there is a way to do it.
Thanks

What type of blades are you running now?
I am using the Atomic mulching blades

What is the complaint: Streaking, clumping - what type of grass?
I'm getting a very inconsistant cut. I think that the deck clogs up very quickly and the deck looses it's ability to pull the grass into the blades. This happens more when it's wet. I have adjusted the pitch. I keep my blades sharp and clean the deck frequently. I also have a Kubota ZD18 with none of these issues.

I was just wondering, I have this unit with the 19 Kaw, I run the atomics and have not had any issues with what you are talking about - even in wet conditions. Has the RPM been checked? When you say "inconsistant" is it leaving one side higher than the other? If that is the case, are the spindals good
I have the 23hp liquid cooled Kawi. It cuts dry grass fairly well but if the grass gets a little long or if it is wet, it doesn't cut it clean. In fact , I am currently using a loaner as my machine has a coolant leak and it is at the Toro dealer for repair. The loaner is also a 52" deck and it does the same thing.
I have read a few threads and it seems that some folks are having good luck double blading and I don't know if the extra lift from the double blades would cure my problem. Also, I don't know if you can double blade the Toro deck because of the flange on the spindle.

Hey Mick... I have a 44" and am running doubles. I have had good success with it. I run gators over high lifts. You need to take an angle grinder and cut out a space in the saddle for the extra blade. Doesn't take long, and actually will create a second saddle for the second blade (if you do it right!!:D ). I got two good ones out of three  . I would recommend trying it.

I tried doubles on my 52" Toro Z Master last year and was not impressed. I really did not know what a good cut was until I switched to Exmark. (Here we go)

I am currently having the same problem with my Toro Z-147 44" with 17hp Kawi. Leaves a crappy finish if the grass is high. I have to double cut everything. Usually have one guy do first cut with Toro, by then guy on Lazer HP is done and comes and cuts it a second time at top speed, leaving a good finish. Sucks on productivity. Blades are sharp. Have tried the Atomic High Lifts and the Atomic Gators. Have not tried doubling them yet. Can I buy an EXMARK LAZER HP 44" deck and put it on my Toro???? So far Exmark rules on cut quality. (I have Great Dane, Toro & Encore BUT Exmark beats em all.)

get the mulchers off o there in wet conditions. makes a heck of a mess. try standard lift w very sharp blades at 3/4 throttle,in wet conditions.. doubles work good ,unless they do more lift than u need .... this can cause the blades to act like a fan blowing the longer grass stems dn away from the blade.
Put MEG MO blades on and all of the problem will be solve plus a few no brought up I haven clean a deck in 10 years or no lumps on turf no need to catch grass any more
