Doubles on a Gravely Pro 36"?

Anyone ever tried doubles on a Gravely 36"? They make a doubles kit for the 2002, but I own a 2000, and the kit supposedly will not work, so I attempted to mount gators on top, and high lifts on the bottom. The bottom blades are less than a quarter inch from the bottom of the deck, and I am concerned that this will cause significant blow out, as well as a lower cut than intended. Does anyone know if they make blades that are contoured to fit at a 90 degree angle with the other blade, or a kit that will mount them at the proper height? Or is it, as Gravely tech support informed me "a lost cause w/o their new deeper deck design?

Thanks in advance for any input-
