I have a 1999 DR ALL-TERRAIN FIELD and BRUSH MOWER (AT-1). The chain broke. The new one is about 1/8" too short but would be fine if I were able to adjust the chain adjuster.

I've loosened (and tightened) the nuts on the bolt, but the chain adjuster roller doesn't move in any direction. I've sprayed it with WD-40 and will continue to do that over the next few days.

I do not have chain link pliers, but I feel as though I was able draw the two links close with a small piece of string. In any case, I'll need the chain adjuster as the chain stretches.

What would make my problem clearer? A picture?

    Thanks for any help,
    mrmac

Get one of these untill the chain stretches, then remove it. it's a half link...you know what size chain you have ?

Well, yer gonna have to get the chain adjuster freed up.
Ya also wanna inspect the sprockets fer hooking/wear/ etc. While not critical on a mower, ya should replace if badly worn
    GOOGLE fer worn sprocket pics.
