drive wheels on a Metro?

I wrote a few months ago about removing these wheels so I could get the tire replaced,I loosened the scraper and held the bands open, the whole assembly started to slide off!wheels, sheaves, brake drum and all! According to my manual the actual rim sould not be bolted or held to the sheaves or brake drum.Am I doing something wrong or is this whole thing supposed to slide off and not just the wheel. When you stated "hold the brake bands open"you meant squeeze the brake levers?right?Thank you for the time.In my opinion these wheels should be held on with lug nuts or something else a bit less involved.

Mike,

Thanks, I'll pass it along.

We do offer this feature on the full featured Metro HP and it has been a selling point for that model.

Thanks

Terry
