We did get two short bands of rain pass through last night.
Rain gauge shows three tenths of an inch of rain. Enough to perk up some weeds.

That makes some sense. If I could find anyone with irrigation. LOL

In 12 years now, I've found one irrigation system in a customer's lawn (never used by them in the 10 years they lived there) and one just had it installed about 2 years ago, but I don't think it gets used much if at all. Nice, shady, city lawn - he got suckered into it by the landscapers who did a big job with the beds. Doesn't even need irrigation.

Lol, Bin mowing grass 40 years here.Think I might remember seeing one old neglected sprinkler head years ago in a yard.

In our street, there are two lawns they always been very green, also in dry period (the other lawn aren‘t so brown as shown above)… ours and of my neighbour who is gardener too. 😅

We both installed an irrigation system. 😉

Hope it makes a difference. We got similar rain here but don’t think it’s going to dent the non irrigated much. Plus now it’s just stupid hot

I hope so too.
I know we need more, but it's a start.
According to our rain gauge, we got just under 1.5" of rain from about 1pm yesterday until 2pm today.

Saw a tiny bit of green today.
Still skipped more than I cut.
Some are looking scraggly with patches of green and weeds popping up, but the lawns are mostly still too brown to put a mower on.

I doubt it will help much, but I'm out mowing and the sky got dark FAST.
I hurried to finish up, loaded my mower, and it let loose.

Looks like it will all pass in an hour or three. Not enough.
70% chance on monday, then 50% chance of rain wed-fri.

Never been so happy to not be able to work.
Heavy downpour happening now!

We seem to be getting narrow bands of rain once in a while now.
Not enough to green everything back up fully, but it's definitely not as brown as it was a week ago.

I don't think this is supposed to last long, but better than nothing.

Had 9 on the schedule yesterday, 3 were skips. That's unusual too because I normally take time of year into account when scheduling so most were already 3 weeks out... I have two now that are going on 5 weeks, might even go longer, we do see rain but it's these 20-30 minute fast showers that don't do much good other than wash away some dirt.

Most customers are getting cut every other week if I'm lucky.
I DO have a bunch to do today because they haven't been cut in a week or three.

I mowed my lawn on Monday night. I mowed it again last night. Growing like crazy right now. Its crazy what a little sunshine and irrigation will do

It started to dry up, so I gathered my stuff and was ready to head out when my wife said, you may as well wait for the next round.
Sure enough, it's pouring again with a flood watch issued.
