Getting my fall overseed jobs done over the next couple weeks.
Did a 9k sq ft one today - aerate double pass, slice seed 1/2 rate two directions, starter fert. Could not believe how dirty the job was. I looked like I just got off a cab-less tractor after field cultivating bean stubble. And the dust rolling from the slice seeder....looked like I was driving down a dusty gravel road.

    Sick of the dry weather.

Had to break out the dust masks today ourselves DA, lol.
It seems making the crew wear dust masks upset them initially.
But by the end of the day today they were thanking me for not having to blow the crap out of their noses for 20 minutes at the end of the day.

We got a couple of rains that added up to 3/4" over the past week, so now the non-irrigated areas are only normal dust...
How does the aeration go being that dry??? any worries about killing the grass roots around the holes???

I don't prefer aerating in these conditions, but am doing it to pull dirt up which the slicer will pulverize. And, my customers will be watering their turf daily to get good germination which eases my concerns some.

Water the turf or area to be seeded prior to the seeding. Viola! Very little dust. I do it all the time anymore. I've learned my lesson. Slit seeding it dry makes for some good black boogers though and pickin those was fun so there is that....lol

Wasn't to bad here I did 12,000 with no problems
Then did 8,000sq ft It was hard broke bolts on the slit seeder. Think I replace 8 bolts on the knives
The way I was doing mine is Thatch it , Slice with out seed ,Sweep the thatch, Slice with seed two directions, apply fert and lime,Blowed straw, water

Good thing about the drought lot of work coming in
    Have 15 more to do
