I was going to comment on your most recent post regarding WB and Stand ons for your application but you've closed the topic. I'd advise you to get a walk behind with a sulky. Weight displacement. Ability to "manhandle," the machine by applying lateral force up hills to keep the deck level with the ground and not popping wheelies or sliding. Please keep in mind I'm a small start up but I've been in the landscape industry since 94 when I was 9 riding the old Snapper on the family farm. I'm a laborer, sales rep, CS rep, mechanic, etc now. I focused on maintenance to start with as the market I live in is golden. From there I'm trying to put together some equipment that's efficient and higher quality than what I'm used to using at All Turf, Tru Green, Legacy Lawn Care here in Walton County GA. I was looking at cheaper alternatives like salvaged window motors for my first build but I'm glad I asked. I appreciate your time and constructive criticism.

I was wondering if you could start a new thread about your build? I am planning on adding more information on my build about the advanced technology I am adding that could potentially give others ideas on what they would like to add to their machines or build their own in a similar way. By having your own thread you can get answers to specific questions to where you are at in your build. Many of your questions you asked can be answered with a little google time. With my machine, all the ideas and various pieces were planned out well in advance of the build. Thank you!

Respectfully, I asked a simple question to start with. What motor did you use for the spreader? You responded, the toro came with a 27 hp. From the get go you didn't understand my question. Every other comment made didn't read my comments before responding either. The ric-a-green used a Lesco Truckster. I can't afford that as I stated. Yes, it would be much easier to start with something like that but I can't. I do realize I posted a lot of responses to others that were somewhat off topic, especially regarding your plans to install GPS systems. I apologize for that. I couldn't delete my comments so to save space I replaced my comments with, "sorry." Yes all the information is available by searching Google if one has electrical experience and knows the right questions to shake the Google stick. I'm a hands on learner. If I can't do it hands on I need it spoon fed lol. I'm very disappointed in the fact that instead of answering a simple questions and helping me, y'all treated me like I asked you to feed me and not to teach me how to fish.

For your spreader motor buy an electric salt spreader motor and mount it to the Brinely. 70-80 bucks.

I just didn't want the thread to get hijacked from a thread about a very advanced machine that is rival and, in many ways, surpassing industry offerings. Mounting a few components onto a lawn mower to do a few apps shouldn't be that hard. You'll need to be able to make brackets and mounts and have a basic understanding of the components you want. People do this all the time. You can buy a cheaper electric spreader for a few hundred bucks and an atv sprayer and mount them to your mower. That's not complicated at all.

The spreader I used is a JRCO. Not ideal capacity but well made at 1400.00. You can find much cheaper ones or just get a salt spreader motor and mount it with the Brinely.

Lots of youtubes out there of homeowners mounting cheaper components on their mowers and atv's.

The point is, the guy doesn’t want his thread derailed by someone. “Go start your own thread” isn’t rude. It’s actually rude you were hijacking his. So, be polite, apologize and go back to the one you started. No need to log a complaint or rant.

Would have been easier to start with an electric drive spreader than a ground drive unit. Now you’ll have to figure out where to put the motor, which will take some time. Depending on fan size and drive speed, it may (likely) need relocated.

Yessir I completely understand where you're coming from. I have watched several YouTube videos, 2jeffs1 videos and Trial and Error, both Youtube Fab guys, had the most informative videos on their modifications to their spreaders. Just because I don't have the experience in maintenance and upkeep coming from the technician side of the business doesn't mean I don't have the same expectations for my end result. That's why I'm asking for help from experienced guys. My goal was to improve on their design by exceeding industry standards. That's why I suggested, in another Walker repair thread, that I was going to wire in a speed controller to the windshield wiper motor so I could find tune the paddle speed. Ms Baker replied,

"It won't work.

Nevermind, you'll figure it out."

I appreciate the condescending, constructive criticism Ms. Baker. I apologized for unintentionally hijacking the thread and replaced all my comments with, "sorry," so a Mod could delete them and reduce the clutter. Get over yourself dude. It's not a rant, you should be a better human. I'm here to learn and prosper, not have a thumb war with Boss Baby. Hope you have a better day today.

I looked at the JRCO spreader after the Lesco Truckster and I didn't want to spend that coin for a spreader with a hopper mounted motor and no stock agitator, (my old LT Rich Z spray had the motor in the hopper, no bueno.) Truckster was just way too much considering the components, you're paying for the brand name. I ASSumed you sourced the JRCO like the Toro donor and modified it with an external motor. Hence me initially asking what motor you used for the spreader. Sorry brother, my miscommunication. Thanks for the suggestion and I'm on it already! That's the route I think I'm gonna take. I've been looking at videos and other post here on lawnsite for modified salt spreaders all day.

I did a quick boom nozzle mockup yesterday to check my effective coverage and produced 14 feet at 50 psi and 12 at 25 psi give or take. Another goal of this machine. I've always wondered why a machine that can cover up to 25 ft granular would be limited to 10 feet liquid.

Yeah, that makes sense doesn’t it.

What type of nozzles are you using?

This machine needs field testing before such claims can be made. I agree it's stout, the platform is 10x what any other ride on stander is, but you can't make assumptions until you've got years of use on it. or at least a season to determine the weak points.

Agreed but it's obvious that there are various things that will go through evolution. Please don't confuse that I am trying to build this to put on the market. This my machine built for me to use and learn and improve functions.

Yup, never said anything about selling or marketing. Just pointing out that it first needs some field use before you can say it's surpassing industry offerings.
This is true but hill stability has been field tested. Onboard prill blower has been field tested. Spray width has been field tested. The electric booms will never fail. Spray solenoid and momentary switches have been field tested. This isn't our first rodeo building stuff we needed that didn't exist. I will be updating a patent on one device I invented for the industry but we have invented and built a couple other technologies that we have used for years. Here's the Sprayder. Yes, it's a Solo chest spreader but has an electric spreader that spreads 4-25 ft along with a 1 gallon electric spot sprayer. We've used these for years for small, gated, backyards, steep hills, commercial parking lot islands and large wet areas in lawns the riders can't get. Simple, reliable and "field tested". We used a marching snare drum mount instead of straps so easy on, easy off. We have a couple of these simple devices. Use them all the time.
I understand the point you were making but when I want something to help me do work, we are going to make it work one way or another.
