you should be ok as long as it has brakes. you'll be surprised how easly that trailer would push around your truck.

I just purchased a 6x10 dump last week. I have 1985 chevy 1/2 ton with a 305 and a 4 barrell carb. I know its alot of difference in the engines now, fuel injection verses a carb. This week I had 7 yards of oak mulch on the trailer and the truck did fine, but when I got in the hills then wow. Ive had 6 yards on a regular trailer before with no problems. I got home and looked at the title close and saw that the trailer weighs in at 2000 pounds empty. This trailer has brakes on both axles and Im glad. I think you will be ok.....just watch how heavy you load it. I think the max im gonna carry anymore is 5 yards for safety sakes.

I pull the 6x10 Cam around loaded with horse manure with a 2003 Dodge Dakota 4.7l. Loaded, I would say the trailer borders 7k lbs. It is ok on the hills out od O/D, but stopping is another story. Make sure you have the trailer brakes hooked up. Even with the controller, the brakes are going bad after 15k miles. The rearend clunks sometimes, but the dealer said it is OK. We are going to get a bigger truck ASAP... Dodge Ram Cummins?!?:)
